    Qualifications

    What we are looking for:

     

    The IT Specialist is the first point of technical contact for our users in Gainesville having technical questions or issues with a variety of standard and proprietary software applications and hardware products.  This person understands IT architecture and is responsible for providing operational support of workstations, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals and associated applications and services.

     

     

    Essential Job Duties

    • Answer calls/email, troubleshoot and document technical issues accurately and in detail in the help desk ticketing system. Follows established processes, updates and closes assigned tickets. Create standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Performs analytical, technical work in the planning, designing and installation of desktop PC
    • Maintains IT inventory, monitors, open tickets
    • Participates in help desk and client training sessions
    • Proactively identifies risks/issues and develop recommendations for resolution.
    • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
    • Provides software updates and upgrades to workstations and other equipment, such as anti-virus, Microsoft Office, and other workstation software
    • Evaluates and recommends new technology deployment requests
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Education, Skills and Experience

    • IT related certifications preferred
    • Technical proficiency with common hardware, software & technologies: Windows 7 Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Laptops, WiFi, peripherals, racking & stacking, switches, install and de-install cable.
    • Experience with ticketing applications and knowledge of software deployment tools is a plus
    • Technical troubleshooting and customer service skills
    • Two plus years of technical support experience in a Windows environments
    • Able to work independently and in a team environment
    • On-call availability required as necessary
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Valid FL driver’s license, Reliable transportation
